Social media is useless on its own

I went to an event recently. People asked what I did. When I said I worked in digital and social media, several people asked what my top three tips were.

Top of my list is to make sure social media is connected to everything else in your organisation.

When you post, you should reflect your key messages.

When you recruit new volunteers on social networks, you should help meet your fundraising targets by encouraging them to fundraise.Social media should help achieve your charity’s social goals, whether that’s campaigning, information spreading or movement creating.
So:
1. Define your key messages and goals.
2. Define your audiences.

3. Find out what social media channels they use

4. Go there, and show them the positive impact your charity has on the world
